Nanotechnology Tools: DNA Clamp to Grab Cancer Before it Develops

Content:

New nanotechnology developed by a research team that includes UCSB’s Kevin Plaxco, a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, can detect DNA mutations responsible for certain genetic diseases, including some cancers, with more efficiency than current techniques. Plaxco believes this tool will help jumpstart further nanomachine developments that “could ultimately have a major impact on many aspects of healthcare.”
