First Results from LUX, the World’s Most Sensitive Dark Matter Detector

UCSB Physicist Harry Nelson helped design, build and fill the Large Underground Xenon (LUX) detector which is almost a mile deep in the Black Hills of South Dakota. After a run of more than three months, LUX results completely rule out any hints of dark matter from earlier experiments.
