Deadline Dates for Academic Personnel Cases

MERIT AND PROMOTION CASES

The following are the College's firm deadline dates for ladder faculty merit and promotion cases. Department chairs are urged to prepare for personnel cases during the Spring Quarter. Whenever possible, faculty should submit their updated case materials by July 1; September 15 is the campus-wide default cut-off date. Letters requesting extramural evaluations should be sent no later than June to ensure that files are complete early in the fall.

  • Dean's Authority Cases and Deferrals for Assistant Professors: 2nd Monday of November
  • Expanded Review Cases: 2nd Monday of December

Completed cases must be submitted to the office of the appropriate dean by the appropriate deadline. Cases received after the due date will be returned to the department and will not be processed. Recommendations must be based on materials available before September 15. Requests for extensions to the hard deadlines must come from the department chair and should be addressed by email to the AVC for Academic Personnel with copies to both the relevant dean and the College analyst. Requests should be made before the deadline has been reached. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
